Appalachian Striper Club 2010 Tournament
Rules
- The Appalachian Striper Club will not be liable for any accident or
injury to contestants or spectators or any damage to property. A contestant's
entry into a tournament constitutes waiver of the rights to sue the
Appalachian Striper Club, its successors and assignees, for any such
accident, injury, or property damage.
- The entry fee of $25 (+ $5 Big Fish TX = $30) per boat as set by the
club must be paid by an active member before fishing any tournaments.(Members
have until March 1st to pay before being considered inactive) Entry
fees may be paid at the meeting prior to the tournament or a tournament
committee member must be notified prior to the start of the tournament.
If for any reason, except those of extreme circumstances which will
be determined by the tournament committee, that a registrant agrees
to enter a tournament and fails to pay by the time the weigh-in ends,
that registrant (person or team) may not fish any more tournaments for
the remainder of the year. The registrant must pay the club the outstanding
tournament fee which will go directly into the general fund before fishing
another tournament the following year. In the event, that this does
occur, payout for the tournament will be based on the number of PAID
boats for that day. 10% ($2.50) of the $25 club tournament entry fee
per boat will go directly to the club's general fund.
- The entry fee of $5 as set by the club for the tournament big fish
will make the total entry fee, $30 per boat to be paid per tournament
day. All participants of the club tournament must enter and pay this
fee. The Big Fish Tournament will pay out 100%.
- The entry fee for the TWT (Tournament Within Tournament) is $20. Participating
in the TWT is optional. TWT winner takes all of TWT proceeds. (100%)
- Placing is determined by the combined weight of the two biggest fish
caught per boat. Min. length 21".
- All entrants must be checked in by the pre-determined time at the
weigh-in site or will be disqualified..
- All tournaments, unless otherwise specified by the tournament committee,
will be from safe light until 3:00 pm in which lines must come out of
the water, and all boats must be checked in to the scales by 4:00 p.m..
Fishing outside the predetermined fishing hours constitutes disqualification.
"Safe Light" is defined as 30 minutes preceding official sunrise
for that day and will be rounded to the nearest 15 minute interval as
determined by the tournament committee. The Official Times and schedule
including the weigh in location will be posted on "Striperboard".
If there is a deviation from the posted schedule or weigh in location
due to the decision of the tournament committee, a tournament committee
member may alter the schedule via posted message on "Striperboard"
the revised time or schedule for the upcoming tournament in which the
altered and revised posted times and location becomes the rule. It is
the entrant's responsibility to be aware of the changes as announced
by the tournament committee through the use of "Striperboard".

- Guests may fish up to two tournaments annually, but must fish with
an Active Member.
- Immediate family, in accordance with the bylaws of an active member
may fish as many tournaments as they like with that active member.
- An entrant may possess the legal limit for the body of water fished
during a tournament, but may weigh-in no more than the maximum number
of fish allowed in the tournament. It is the individual angler's responsibility
to be aware of the tournament limit prior to fishing. All fish weighed
must measure a minimum of 21 inches total length with the fish's mouth
closed.
- It is the responsibility of the entrant to practice and obey all laws
pertaining to boating and fishing during the club tournament.
- . If an entrant is suspected of an unsportsmanlike or unethical act
or acts, the entrant may be challenged by the Tournament Committee and
may be required to take a polygraph test at club expense. The Board
of Directors will be the sole determiners as to disciplinary action
taken, including loss of prize money and barring from future tournaments.
(Any member believing they have knowledge of a possible infraction of
the above tournament rules shall discreetly and privately bring the
matter to the attention of the club President or one of the Board of
Directors.)

Team Of The Year Points Tournament System
- 10 participation points for each regular meeting a team attends. Only one member of a team must attend in order to secure 10 points. Only 10 points are to be awarded per team per month.
- 50 points are to be awarded for paid participating teams not weighing a fish during a tournament.
- There will be 12 tournaments a year and participating teams will accrue points as follows:

- The last tournament of the year (December) will be worth double points (2X) as determined above.
- Teams can/will drop the lowest 2 tournament scores excluding the December Tournament, in which it cannot be dropped. It is the intent to keep the teams highest 9 scores, excluding the December points.
- The Team of the Year points Tournament will payout in the following fashion directly from the general fund:

Winnings for the Team of the Year will be awarded at the following monthly
club meeting during the annual awards ceremony. Teams must be present
at this meeting to collect prizes as well as, be recognized. Winning teams
not attending the annual awards ceremony defaults to forfeiture, in which
the proceeds go directly into the wildlife conservation fund.
Big Fish of the Year Tournament System
Each team has the option to pay $10 to enter into the Big Fish of the Year Tournament. The biggest fish in lbs., caught by a team during a regular monthly club tournament, in each calendar year, will be recognized as the Big Fish Champion for that year and will win 100% of the $10 entries.
Youth Division
A youth angler is defined as an angler 17 and under. The tournament director must be notified prior to the tournament of which youth anglers will be participating in the club tournament for a particular month. The youth(s) in the boat of a member team during a regular club tournament with the two biggest fish in pounds wins the ASC Youth Angler Plaque for that particular month. Any youth, fishing with a member team will accrue points in the same format as of the Team of the Year Points System. The youth angler with the most points for each particular year will win the ASC Youth Angler of the Year Award.
